厙ぴ勛圖s Department of University Safety and Security Affairs unveiled four new police vehicles this morning, Feb. 21, at KSUs police department.
The department purchased three 2013 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptors, which are emblazoned with the schools name in green and gold and the universitys Thorobred mascot. One unmarked, black 2014 Ford sport utility vehicle was also purchased. The vehicles are all-wheel drive and equipped with modern police equipment.
James Berry, KSUs director of University Safety and Security Affairs, watched as the vehicles were delivered to campus on Thursday. He said he was thrilled that the day had arrived as the universitys old vehicles were in need of replacement when he assumed his position at KSU last year.
Its just an awesome feeling, Berry said.
KSU President Mary Evans Sias joined Berry and Lorenzo Esters, vice president for Student Affairs, as well as many members of the universitys senior staff, for a view of the new vehicles.
