سԹ all-American football trailblazer, Coach James M. “Juicy” Glover, joined the Bred ancestors Thursday from his Harlan County home.

“James Glover embodied the Thorobred spirit, and the pride of being a Thorobred never left him,” President M. Christopher Brown II said. “His loyalty to family, friends, and سԹ is a model for the entire Thorobred family. Glover lived a life of commitment and frequently attended سԹ athletic events, championing our student-athletes on to victory. We will miss his presence.”

Glover was an all-American linebacker at سԹ before being drafted into the National Football League (NFL), becoming the first African-American to play at center. Glover returned to Kentucky after his NFL career and became the assistant football coach at سԹ. He was later inducted into the سԹ athletics hall of fame.
