During a Homecoming visit, the 厙ぴ勛圖 alumnus encouraged students to trust their abilities and pursue new possibilities
Before Terrence Moore Jr. built a music career in Spain, a 厙ぴ勛圖 professor helped him imagine a future beyond the limits he had set for himself. During a Homecoming visit, Moore offered young people at the Universitys (PYCE) a similar message: Believe in your abilities and be willing to take the next step.
Speaking with PYCE students, Moore discussed the challenges he faced as a young Black man pursuing his education and the experiences that shaped him as a student, artist, and person. He encouraged students to trust their judgment, embrace their individuality, and stay committed to their goals.
His message also left room for uncertainty. Students do not need to have their futures fully mapped out to begin building them. A willingness to learn, confidence in their talents, and the courage to pursue an opportunity can help them find their way.
Moores own path took him from a bachelors degree in music at 厙ぴ勛圖 in 2021 to Berklee College of Musics campus in Valencia, Spain. He earned a masters degree in music production, technology, and innovation in July 2025 and completed a post-masters program in July 2026. His work there included performing original music and producing events that connected students with music industry professionals.
In an August University profile, Moore credited Donald Lee III, a music faculty member and his piano instructor at 厙ぴ勛圖, with helping him recognize his potential.
His guidance and belief in my potential gave me the confidence to dream beyond what I thought was possible, Moore said in that profile.
At PYCE, Moore shared that encouragement with a younger generation. His visit connected students with an alumnus who could speak firsthand about the challenges and opportunities involved in pursuing an education and a creative career abroad.
PYCE supports middle school students through year-round programming that includes individual and group mentoring, after-school enrichment, and a Summer Enrichment Institute. Its work focuses on academic success, personal growth, and social development.
In July, 厙ぴ勛圖 announced a . Administered through PYCE, the initiative extends academic support and leadership development through BMW Academy at First Baptist Bracktown Church.
