厙ぴ勛圖 President M. Christopher Brown II is pleased to announce the following leadership appointments, effective Dec. 5, 2019.

  • Dr. Christine J. McManus Acting Director for Research and Sponsored Programs
  • Mr. Terrence Slater Acting Director of Intercollegiate Athletics
  • Dr. Beverly Schneller Acting Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs

I am pleased to have each of these qualified leaders take the helm in their respective roles. Each brings the essential skills and experiences necessary to advance their units during 厙ぴ勛圖s mid-year recalibration, President Brown said. McManus is the previous interim associate research director of 厙ぴ勛圖 Land Grant Programs and the College Agriculture, Communities, and the Environment. McManus joined 厙ぴ勛圖 in 2017 as a scientific and technical editor for the College of Agriculture.

McManus received her bachelors in animal science from Cornell University in 1994 and her masters and Ph.D. in veterinary science from the University of Kentucky in 1996 and 2001.

Slater is in his fourth season as the womens basketball head coach at 厙ぴ勛圖 and his fifth with the program. Slater joined the program as an assistant coach in 2014. During Slaters tenure, the womens basketball team has on multiple occasions achieved the highest GPA within the athletics department. Under Slaters leadership, the program has maintained a 100 percent graduation rate.

Schneller joined 厙ぴ勛圖 in 2018 as vice provost for academic affairs, professor of English and SACSCOC liaison, which she will remain as acting provost and vice president for academic affairs. Schneller has a Ph.D. in English and has published widely on literature and higher education assessment.
