厙ぴ勛圖 graduates reflected on their academic journey and the road ahead for them after graduation during the Spring 2019 Baccalaureate Assembly in the Little Theater in David H. Bradford Hall.

Congratulations to class of 2019, Interim Provost and Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs Dr. Lucian Yates III said. Keep on dreaming. Nothing happens without a dream. Youre here today because youve been dreaming.

National recording artist Chrisette Michele presented a song of encouragement, Be Grateful, which brought the audience to its feet.

Dr. Stashia Emmanuel, Vice Provost for Academic and Student Affairs, provided an inspirational reading.

You stood the test of time, Emmanuel said. You worked hard. Worked double shifts so you can stand and be counted among those with a degree. One path has ended. Another has begun.

Emmanuel also delivered the necrology report, remembering and honoring Thorobreds who passed away in 2019.

Dr. W. Franklin Evans, president of Voorhees College, delivered the baccalaureate address.

Evans focused on seeking God on your left side.

Evans said God moves openly on the right side, doing work in a persons life anyone can see.

When were living on the left side, we think God has forgotten us, Evans said. There are still times when God moves quietly, behind the scenes. Times when you cant discern him.

Evans said Gods blessings are just as good from the left side as they are on the right.

Seek God. Search for God, Evans said. Never think hes not around.
